Our work with the HCPT Charity in Lincoln

11 Mar 2013

Turbine Efficiency Ltd has sponsored two children from local charity HCPT Pilgrimage Trust (Lincoln), enabling them to join their friends on the annual trip to Lourdes (in the French Pyrenees). Each Easter thousands of children aged between 7 and 18 with disabilities or special needs are taken on holiday to Lourdes by the charity to visit the famous grotto and villages nestled high in the mountains.

“At Turbine Efficiency we take our corporate social responsibility seriously and are keen to support this worthwhile local charity” says Alan Hawkins, CEO. “It’s great that we can help to create new and exciting opportunities for the children and we all look forward to hearing about their holiday once they return to Lincoln.”

The children come from all walks of life and the aim is to give them an enjoyable holiday with the warmth and affection of caring friends. There are doctors, nurses and a medical centre and all carers are carefully vetted to ensure that the children receive the best possible care and attention while they are away from home.

HCPT selects the children based on their medical and social needs and then works towards raising sponsorship money for them (to enable them to take the trip).  To date Lincoln Group 106 has taken 33 children since their inception in 2004, and are planning to take a further 7 sponsored children in March 2013.

Peter Hawbrook Deputy Group Leader said “We are very proud of our local group in Lincoln and are so happy that Turbine Efficiency have agreed to be our partner, enabling us to further enhance children’s lives now and in the future.”
