Job Description:


Objective

Competent mechanically biased technician experienced in the required field service activities offered to our worldwide customer base. The activities include installation, removal of industrial gas turbines and power turbines, commissioning and services to the required quality standards and within planned timescales. The completion of technical reports detailing site activities to communicate completed work scopes during mobilisations. 

Areas of responsibility

  • Carry out planned and unplanned (Breakdown) site maintenance as part of a multiple discipline team
  • Be available to deploy to customers site in a breakdown scenario
  • Carry out installation and removal of industrial gas turbine and power turbine assemblies.
  • Comply with field service code of practice, site and workshop procedures whilst ensuring all associated documentation is accurately completed.
  • Perform assessment of customers equipment performance and provide recommendations.
  • Comply with health and safety procedures both within the workshop and on client sites
  • Responsibility for maintaining high levels of housekeeping
  • Duty of care in all HSE and Quality procedures
  • Travel to client sites both UK and overseas
  • Work in an environment, which is technical, commercial and customer orientated being responsible to support key stakeholders.
  • Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing when required
  • Testing of new and reconditioned parts and equipment within the workshop when required
  • Ensure all works are completed on time, safely and within budget to the satisfaction of the company and the client
  • Develop effective internal working relations within the group

Product Knowledge

  • Mechanical understanding of gas turbine principles and proven track record within the relevant industry.
  • Familiar with Siemens gas turbines (SGT100, SGT200, SGT300, TA and TB)
  • Strong hands-on mechanical background

Qualifications 
Modern apprentice qualified in a mechanical discipline, which requires the following qualifications: NVQ levels two and three or City & Guilds equivalent, and National Certificate

Product Knowledge
Technical understanding within gas turbine principles and overhaul programs within the Ruston Range
Ability to interpret data and process it in a methodical manner
