Objective
Responsible for all aspects of industrial gas turbine rotor overhaul carried out at the Lincoln facility.
The gas turbine is inspected on receipt at the workshop. The compressor rotors are removed, and detailed inspection carried out including journal measurement, coating inspection, blade damage, concentricity checking and check balancing. The Rotor Technician will also be responsible for dismantling, re-assembly and balancing of the overhauled compressor rotor assembly.
Role & Responsibilities
• Measurement of compressor rotor journals (size /geometry)
• Inspection of blade coating and damage.
• Concentricity checks of rotor.
• Dismantling compressor rotors and preparing component parts for repair.
• Rebuilding compressor rotors following overhaul of component parts.
• Check balancing of ‘as-received’ rotating assemblies.
• Balancing of overhauled rotating assemblies.
• Distribution of turbine and compressor blade.
