Job Description:


Overhaul, repair, service turbine equipment to the Company’s supported gas turbine product range including strip, clean, inspect process relative to assemblies, modules and components.  To work to the required quality standards and within planned timescales both within the Lincoln Workshop.  Ensure processes and actions are completed and communicated effectively to the Workshop Supervisor/Manager.

Areas of responsibility

  • Strip, clean, inspection and rebuild of turbine core engines and sub-assemblies as directed by the Workshop Supervisor/Manager
  • Comply with workshop procedures whilst ensuring all associated documentation is accurately completed.  For example, disassembly, assembly and test operational procedures and all associated work packs.
  • Complete assessment of components during strip / rebuild and recommendations for the rectification of faults.
  • Ensure processes, non-conformities and actions are completed and communicated effectively to the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a safe and timely manner, within budget and to the company quality expectations.
  • Comply with the company's health and safety procedures.
  • Responsibility for maintaining high levels of housekeeping in the workshop and around site.
  • Duty of care in all HSE and Quality procedures.
  • Develop effective internal working relationships with the Operations Group.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Workshop Supervisor where required

The following Core competencies are the skills, knowledge and behaviors expected of an employee

Modern apprentice qualified in a mechanical discipline, which requires the following qualifications: NVQ levels two and three or City & Guilds equivalent, or National Certificate

Product Knowledge
A good Technical understanding of gas turbine principles and overhaul programs within the Ruston/Siemens Range.
Ability to interpret data, engineering drawings and process it in a methodical manner. A minimum of 5 years product experience/knowledge and the ability to lead strip and build of engines and sub-assemblies is desirable, the right candidate with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with transferable skills will also be considered.
