Skydive Challenge Approaches for Turbine Efficiency Employee
01 Sep 2014
Turbine Efficiency Group employee Helen Penistan is taking up the ultimate fundraising challenge later this month, by jumping out of an aeroplane for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. The event will take place at Hibaldstow airfield on Sunday 21st September, and will be a tandem skydive from 15000 feet with an experienced instructor.
Helen is following in her parent’s footsteps, with her mother already completing a tandem skydive and her father previously being in the parachute regiment. In fact, her father even took up skydiving as a hobby, so Helen has many memories of travelling around the UK with the family to watch him on one of his many jumps.
“It is my first skydive,” says Helen, “I need to raise £200 to take part in the event, however I plan to raise a lot more than that. I have a lot of people coming to support me on the day, so the pressure is on!”
The event is being organised by Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, and all funds that Helen raises will go directly to the charity. Bluebell Wood provides care and support to families who have a child or young person who has a shortened life expectancy and is not expected to live into adulthood.
