Turbine Efficiency Employee Tackles the Outlaw Triathlon
24 Jul 2014
Turbine Efficiency Group employee Steve Hull will not be relaxing in the sunshine this weekend like everyone else, he will be tackling the Outlaw Triathlon challenge. The event (now in its fifth year) will take place on Sunday at the National Watersports Centre in Adbolton, Nottinghamshire, and will include a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run.
“I have been competing in triathlons since 2006, but this is my first time taking part in an iron distance triathlon” says Steve Hull, Business Systems Manager. “I have been preparing since January and have so far completed 336 hours of training. I am looking forward to the day with apprehension and just hope that the weather and course are kind to me.”
The triathlon will not only be a personal challenge for Steve, but also an opportunity to raise money for worthwhile cause, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. The charity provides care and support to families who have a child or young person who has a shortened life expectancy and is not expected to live into adulthood.
Steve has so far raised £547 for the charity, which will be matched by the company and donated to Bluebell Wood after the event.
