Meet the Management Team at Turbine Efficiency.

Chris Turner, CEO

Following a short-service commission in the Royal Navy, He then joined European Gas Turbines / Alstom Power in Lincoln where he progressed through various roles, gradually increasing in seniority including; gas turbine manufacturing management, customer support, regional service manager (Italy) and head of the refurbished equipment division. He then had a period as Director of a turbine blade manufacturer before eventually coming back to Alstom Power to become head of Steam Turbine and Generator service in the UK. For the last 5 years Chris was with Brush Turbogenerators Group, in Loughborough UK and Pittsburgh US, initially joining as Aftermarket Service Director, and subsequently becoming a member of the Executive Board in early 2016 as Managing Director of Brush UK & USA.

Martin Massey, Operations Manager

Qualified in Design after serving an engineering apprenticeship. Worked in various management roles for over 25 years with a Fabrication and Welding company specialising in the design and manufacture of on shore and off shore Flare systems for the Petrochemical Industry culminating in Plant Manager position. 
Over 15 year experience in the repair and coating of Gas Turbine components for a major Coatings company and recently (4.5 years) instrumental in the successful introduction of Repair and Coating to Turbine Efficiency’s core business of Overhaul and maintenance of Gas Turbines. 
Presently Operations Manager responsible for Workshop, site services, Health and safety, and Quality.

James Lowin, Production Control Manager

Began career at Turbine Efficiency via a graduate program for business administrators. During first years within the business, designed and implemented a Quality Management System.
Moved into Procurement Supervisor position and developed supply chain. Established repair programs and schemes for turbine component overhaul.  Managed overhaul and site projects during 3 years as Project Manager.  Developed house accounts during position of Customer Support Manager. Responsible for international accounts with sectors such as oil and gas CHPs.  3+ years experience as Operations Manager responsible for purchasing, customer support, QHSE, projects and stores.
Presently Production Control Manager responsible for Workshop and repairs production and inventory management.

Nick Johnson, Engineering Manager

Started at RGT in 1991 as Technician Trainee. Following apprenticeship, started as a draughtsman within ‘Application dept’. Standard GT packages with site specific ductwork and foundation design.
1996 internal move to ‘package design’, where new auxiliary systems were designed. This included fuel and oil systems, underbases, couplings and guards & maintenance tooling.  In 2000 I began a PT Mechanical Engineering Degree (5 yr) at Nottingham Trent before moving to the Engineering team.  
In 2007 I moved to Dresser Rand to join the steam turbine design team, then re-launcing small steam turbine products at Alstom.    In 2010 I moved to Rolls-Royce in Derby to work on Trent 1000 (pack E) upgrades within the Combustion and Casings dept. Main focus being to re-design the inner guide nozzle casing (RIDN) between the back of the combustor and the HP turbine stator.
In 2011 I joined Turbine Efficiency as an Engineer, and accepted the role of Engineering Manager in 2012.

Steve Hawkins, Sales & Marketing Manager

Steve started his career as a Refrigeration and HVAC Engineer and continued in this role for 10 years. After a brief spell at Grimsby College of Technology as an NVQ training assessor in Refrigeration he moved into the Soft Drinks industry with Britvic PLC.  Starting as a field service engineer he developed into a series of commercial roles over a period of almost 15 years. In 2012 a change in career direction saw Steve join the Industrial Gas Turbine industry as a Business Development Manager at Turbine Efficiency Ltd, responsible for delivering sales of gas turbine maintenance services around the world in the oil & gas, power generation, petrochemical and manufacturing industries.  Presently as Sales and Marketing Manager at Turbine Efficiency Steve is responsible for all business functions and operational activities of the sales and customer support department.

Mike Giles, Financial Director

Mike has held a number of Senior Finance executive positions in the UK and overseas over the last 16 years.
This has included >10 years at Umeco Plc, an Aerospace logistics and composite manufacturing group, where Mike started as Finance Controller at one of its operating companies. He progressed to the role of Group Operations Finance Director overseeing 15 subsidiaries in the UK  and overseas, before Umeco was sold in 2012 and he left the Group.
In 2013 Mike set up his own company providing Finance Director services. He led a number of successful change and transformation projects in the manufacturing and facilities management sectors, before accepting a permanent role at Turbine efficiency.

Chantell Devine, HR Manager

Chantelle joined Turbine Efficiency in June 2016 and is responsible for the full range of HR functions including training and development, internal communications, resourcing, employee relations, reward, organisation design and change management. Chantelle has in excess of 20 years’ experience of working across a broad range of sectors to include Recruitment, Accountancy, Marketing, Training and Development, Sports Stadia and Hospitality and Catering.  Chantelle and her team provide guidance & leadership to senior managers & all employees around the business, taking a broad interest in the success & development of the company & the human resource function as a whole.
